Online course for teachers
The aim of the CPD course is to improve English language teaching practices. The training is based on the British Council’s Teaching for Success framework. Teachers will learn about how to create a motivational classroom environment by:
- looking at different common motivational problems and how targeted classroom activities can minimise these
- developing an awareness of learner differences and consider how to differentiate learning according to resources, task or support
- looking at techniques and activities which promote interaction and oral communication in the classroom.
The course includes 4 online modules and 4 online live sessions (on zoom). Participants are expected to complete 1 online module before each zoom session and there will be an assignment at the end of the course. The total length of the course is 15 hours (estimated workload: 3-4 hours / week).
Upon completion, participants receive a certificate with 15 credit points.
The course is moderated by experienced British Council teacher trainers.
Target group: primary and secondary school teachers, teacher trainees
There will be three cohorts (15 participants/ group). Planned starting dates with the zoom sessions (subject to change):
- Starting date: 29 September with live sessions from 4pm to 5pm on Thursdays: 6, 13, 20, 27 October 2022
- Starting date: 4 October with live online sessions from 3pm to 4pm on Tuesdays: 11, 18, 25 October and 8 November 2022
- Starting date: 10 October with live sessions from 4pm to 5pm on Mondays: 17, 24 October, 7, 14 November
