All of our passionate and dedicated teacher trainers meet the highest international standards with formal qualifications and extensive and varied experience in training teachers and teaching.

They have also all received special subject specific trainer training in the UK by the British Council and are based in Hungary. They have a broad understanding of the Hungarian educational context and are committed to teaching excellence.

Rachel Appleby

Rachel Appleby

Rachel Appleby is a freelance teacher and teacher trainer, specifically for Adults and Professional English. She has worked for International House and the British Council, and at ELTE University in Budapest on the BA and MA English language and methodology programmes. She has run Professional Skills training courses, is a CELTA and LCCI trainer, and also trains on the Academic Teaching Excellence for tertiary level for the British Council. Rachel also writes teaching materials.

Chris White

Having completed his CELTA and teaching Diploma Chris moved to Budapest in the mid-90s and has been with the British Council ever since. Currently he is the Academic Manager for the British Council Teaching Centre but he has a wide range of language assessment experience as he has been examining students from a very tender age for Cambridge Young Learners to adults for IELTS. Chris facilitates our brand new IELTS Trainer course.
