To ensure that any test administered by the British Council (IELTS, Cambridge English, professional and university exams) runs smoothly on the test day/s and that all assigned test day duties and standards are met.

Salary HUF1500 (gross) per hour
Working hours On weekdays and Saturdays typically between 4 and 9 hours at any given test session

How to apply

All applicants must be able to issue an invoice.

Applicants should be based in Budapest or close to Budapest and must be able to demonstrate:

  •    good levels of spoken and written English (at least CEFR B2)
  •    effective team working/organisational skills
  •    cultural awareness
  •    reliability and punctuality
  •    initiative
  •    an ability to work well under pressure.

If you meet all requirements as outlined above, please download and print an IELTS Invigilator Application Form (see bottom of the page) and fill it in by hand.

In addition to the completed application form we require:

  • details of at least three referees including your current or most recent employer, or most recent academic referee (e.g. teacher).
  • a copy of your ID (EU citizens) or Passport.
  • Resince card or residence permit (lakcímkártya)
  • Police check (erkölcsi bizonyítvány)

All applicants must have the legal right to live and work in Hungary. If you are not an EU citizen we also require a copy of your work permit.

Should your written application meet our requirements, you will be invited to take part in an interview. If you are successful in the interview, you will receive training before you start working.
