Help your child continue to learn English at home – and be part of their adventure.
At the British Council, our teachers all have one thing in common: a passion for English education, shaped by our 80 years’ experience. If we have to move our classes online during our semester they will be bringing their enthusiasm and expertise into your home via Zoom to enable your child to continue learning English and so much more in a fun and memorable way.
Stay connected with Timmy and friends
We have always believed that an effective learning experience for your child depends on a nurturing learning environment created by a strong partnership between our teachers and parents. By working more closely together during these challenging times, your child will:
- learn English through Timmy’s stories, videos, songs, drama and arts and crafts
- feel safe and secure because they are in touch with friends and their ‘normal routine’
- make progress with more focused lessons and activities with the same teacher, classmates and characters that they are used to in class
- build their self-confidence, creativity, critical thinking and communication skills
- create happy memories of learning English with Timmy, their friends… and you!
What does the learning experience include?
Three live, interactive 45-minute lessons every week led by your child’s teacher full of activities inspired by an episode of Learning Time with Timmy on the YouTube channel and phonics practise.
The Zoom links to your child’s lessons will be sent to you via email each week. They links are never the same in order to ensure the security of our online classrooms.
Easy to join
All of our sessions will take place via Zoom video-conferencing so you will need the following:
We recommend using a laptop, tablet or desktop computer with speakers and webcam for the optimal learning experience, but you can also use your mobile device
