The climate emergency affects all of us. It's a global issue, a human rights and equality issue, an environmental issue — and a survival issue. Faced with these challenges, we would like to invite the next generation of young people to share ideas and take action for change. 

The programme is based on an inspiring challenge, which offers participants insight into design approaches, an opportunity to build connections with like-minded people and to work together to solve social and environmental problems. 

#DestinationZero challenge encourages participants to showcase initiatives that help people, communities, economies, and the environment reduce the negative impacts of climate change and build resilience.

About the program

Participants will take part in a design thinking workshop and develop social and creative skills such as entrepreneurship, critical thinking, environmental awareness, and visual communication skills. Participants will work on ideas for creating products and services that address the identified problems in teams of 3-5. Trainers will support the teams to prototype their idea, and a jury of experts will provide feedback and select the best ideas at the final pitching event.

Planned dates: 

12 February 2022 (9-16h): Design Thinking basics, research plan, themes

19 February 2022 (9-16h): creative brainstorming, business planning & social enterprise

26 February 2022 (9-16h): prototype development, pitch techniques 

4 March 2022 (online): pitching rehearsal 

10 March 2022 (18-21h): final pitching event and awards 

Please note: participation requires around 32 hours of availability between 12 Feb and 10 March.

Who can apply?

The program is designed for young people aged 16–35 who are interested in entrepreneurship and design: university students, young entrepreneurs, activists, volunteers, designers.
